WILLIAMSTOWN - The Northumberland District Council of Catholic Women held its deanery meeting June 22 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in WIlliamstown.

Deanery president Rosemary Boyer called the meeting to order. Members recited the Prayer to Our Lady of Good Counsel and the Pledge of Allegiance.

A roll call was taken, and the minutres were approved as read. Debbie Gownley gave the treasurer's report. Boyer reported about a diocesan meeting to be held in August.

Sara Mirarchi is now the head of church/retreats mission and Elaine Jurgill will head community concerns.

Plans were announced for a 25th and over wedding anniversary celebration to be held in September at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Lykens. Dinner will follow a Mass. More information will be forthcoming in parish bulletins, along with information concerning the religious appreciation dinner.

The next meeting will be held at Our Lady of Hope Church in Coal Township in August or September.

The meeting closed with 10 Hail Marys for sick and deceased members. After adjournment of the meeting, a luncheon was served.
