Organization News: Centralia American Legion
WILBURTON - The regular meeting of the Centralia American Legion Auxiliary Unit 608 was held Oct. 14 at the post home in Wilburton. President Linda Lawler brought the meeting to order.
Chaplain Eileen Bergan read the opening prayer and members recited the Preamble to the Auxiliary Constitution and the Pledge of Allegience. Deb Gownley gave the secretary's report and Dorothy Kranzel gave the treasurer's report. Margaret May gave the membership report and reminded members that 2014 dues are due.
Lawler then discussed upcoming events and asked members for help with these activities. There will be a potato cake sale at the post home in Wilburton, the annual Ham Shoot is Sunday, Nov. 17, and the auxiliary Christmas party is Dec. 9.
Hostesses for the meeting were Lawler and Bergan. The meeting closed with the chaplain reading the closing prayer and the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be Nov. 11 at the post home.
