Organization News: Carmelite 50-plus club
MOUNT CARMEL - President Cindy Saukitis opened the April 10 meeting of the Carmelite 50+ Club and greeted the ten members and officers present.
Members recited the Pledge of Allegiance, Sam's prayer, St. Mother Pauline's prayer, sang the "50+ song" and a verse of "America."
They said a prayer for the deceased and sick members of the club and for the safety of U.S. troops. A special prayer was said for the passengers on Flight 370 and their families, for Eleanor Greco and the new bishop.
There were no minutes from the last meeting.
Al Visintainer gave the treasury report. It was approved by Arlene Terry, seconded by Tina Connor and is available for audit.
The club welcomed new member, Lois Seyurst. Terry mentioned the Council of Catholic Women will meet May 5 at the Cardinal Keeler Center in Harrisburg. The 50/50 was won by Terry and Seyurst.
After the meeting was adjourned, members played bingo. The next meeting is 5 p.m., May 8, at Village Towne Restaurant. Seyurst will bring dessert.
