Relay For Life meeting tonight
ELYSBURG - An organizational meeting for the Southern Columbia Relay For Life will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 599 W. Center St.
All community members who would like to be involved in planning the 2014 edition of SCA Relay are invited to attend. There are committee positions and volunteer opportunities available.

Downtown Christmas set for Dec. 1
SHAMOKIN - The Northumberland County Council for the Arts and Humanities announced the annual Downtown Christmas event will be held on Sunday, Dec. 1.
The event will start with a Santa Claus parade at 1 p.m., followed by Downtown Christmas from 2 to 6 p.m. in the area of the Fun Shop. There will be craft and food vendors, visits with Santa, Victorian carolers, Christmas tree displays, carriage rides and more. Hand-dipped wax wreaths will be available for sale.

All Saints to host vets service
KULPMONT - The public is invited to attend the 19th annual veterans tribute service Sunday at All Saints Evangelical Lutheran Church.
The service will be included during regular Sunday service at 10 a.m. at All Saints, 12th and Scott streets.
Shirley Little, who served as a U.S. Army nurse during the Korean War, initiated the service, according to the Rev. Alfred J. Bashore. She passed away in September and will be remembered during Sunday's service.
State Rep. Kurt Masser is the guest speaker. Community members and military veterans are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served afterward.
