Heroes banners ready for pick-up
SHAMOKIN - Anyone who sponsored a Hometown Heroes banner to hang from city light poles this past year should call Angie Arnold at 570-648-6294 to arrange for pick-up.
Citizens for a Better Community will hang the banners again for 2014, but requires that sponsors store the banners.
Soroptimist club meeting scheduled
LEWISBURG - The Soroptimist International Club of the Snyder, Union and Northumberland Counties Inc. will hold its regular monthly dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Country Cupboard.
The SUN Soroptimist Club is an international volunteer service organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world. Friday: WorkKeys Practice, 9:30 a.m. to noon; Intro to computers, 12:30 to 3 p.m.
