Tax bills have been mailed
KULPMONT - Borough tax bills were mailed March 1. Any borough taxpayer who did not receive a bill must contact Linda Nolter at 570-373-2698.
Tax office hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays and from 2 to 4 p.m. the second and fourth Saturday of each month.
Festival ad sponsors wanted
SHAMOKIN - Those wanting to place a sponsorship ad in the booklet produced for the Anthracite Heritage Festival of the Arts is asked to contact Jeanne Shaffer at firstname.lastname@example.org or 570-850-9121.
Sponsorships are $25 for a quarter page, $50 for a half and $100 for a full page.
The booklets are distributed for free at the festival, which is held the Friday and Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
Groundbreaking set for tank memorial
BERWICK - The Berwick Stuart Tank Committee will hold a commemoration and groundbreaking ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Reliance Fire Hall. A running 1942 Berwick-built M3A1 Stuart tank will be there along with several dignitaries and community groups.
The ceremony will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the last tank to roll off the AC&F line in 1944 and dedicate a spot where a future memorial to all those who worked in the AC&F and built the tanks and those that rode them into battle, will be built.
