Banner orders being taken again
MOUNT CARMEL - Orders are being taken again for banners that will be placed in recognition of service by veterans of the armed services. Deadline to order is Wednesday, April 24.
Application forms are available at borough hall, 137 W. Fourth St., or at Academy Sports Center, 18 S. Oak St.
The banner project began last year as part of the borough's 150th anniversary celebration, and those purchased last year will be reinstalled.
The banners include the name and rank of the veteran and either the war in which they served or the branch of service with which they served. Banners are blue and include the words "Mount Carmel Honors Our Veterans" in white lettering above a large American flag, slightly furled. A veteran's name and information is in white lettering at the bottom.
Living or deceased veterans can be honored through the project.
