Scouting registration at St. John's
SHAMOKIN - Registration will be open this week for scouting programs sponsored by St. John's UCC Church at the Grant Street entrance to the church, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Scouting teaches ethical decision-making to youth focusing on character development, personal fitness and citizenship through a program that is age-specific, fun and local to community.
The following programs are open for registration: Cub Scouts for ages 6 through 10 (6-year-olds must be in first grade); Boy Scouts for ages 11 through 18 and Venturing Scouting, co-ed for ages 13 to 21.
Culver to hold town hall meeting
SUNBURY - Rep. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-108) will hold a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at the Shamokin Dam Fire Company, 3343 North Old Trail.
The legislator has also created a legislative survey to have the public assist her in decision-making process once she returns to session. The survey can be found online at www.LyndaCulver.com
Mass with prayers for healing
MOUNT CARMEL - The Rev. Frank Karwacki and Msgr. Myron Grabowski will celebrate a Mass with prayers for healing at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 47 S. Market St,
The sacrament of the sick will not be administered, but all will be prayed over for healing at the conclusion of the Mass. All are welcome.
