Pierogie pickup set for Tuesday

COAL TOWNSHIP - Those who ordered pierogies from Our Lady of Hope Church may pick them up from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Masser to hold satellite office hours

TREVORTON - Rep. Kurt Masser (R-107) reminds residents living in and around Zerbe Township that his office staffs monthly satellite office hours in Trevorton.

The new satellite office hours will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday and on the second Tuesday of every month at the Zerbe Township Municipal Building, located at 800 Mahanoy St..

Masser and his staff operate two district offices - one full-time office in Elysburg and one part-time office in Danville.

Route 61 tree removal scheduled

MONTOURSVILLE - A PennDOT maintenance crew in Northumberland County will close a section of Route 61 in Upper Augusta Township for the removal of a large tree next week.

The work will be performed just east of Sunbury, between Route 4011 (Van Horn Street) and T-507 (Green Street). Parking will be prohibited during the closure hours.

Route 61 will be closed daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. There will be a detour in place using Route 4012 (Snydertown Road) and Route 4009 (Black Mill Road). This work will be performed weather permitting.

Pilgrim statue at Divine Redeemer

MOUNT CARMEL - The International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima will visit Divine Redeemer Church Thursday and Friday.

The statue will be the church from 6:30 Thursday through 10 a.m. Friday.
