Rep. Culver to hold outreach events
SUNBURY - Rep. Lynda Schlegel-Culver (R-108) will hold several outreach events through the end of the month for residents living in the 108th district.
Special legislative breakfasts will be held at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at The Hut Restaurant, 4350 State Route 147, Herndon, and at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Edison Hotel, 401 Market St., Sunbury. Culver will also hold a town hall meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, at St. Peter's Church, 240 Sunbury Road, Riverside.
"As always, all events are free to attend. I just ask that residents please RSVP to my office if planning to attend one of the legislative breakfasts," Culver said. "I encourage all residents who have questions on any state-related program or issue to come out and talk with me at these events."

Juried art show starts next week
SHAMOKIN - The Northumberland County Council for the Arts and Humanities (NCCAH) Fine Arts Gallery will hold its first juried art show beginning with an opening reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21.
Gallery director Claude Harrington put the show together shortly after taking over this past summer. Cash prizes for first, second and third place will be awarded. Serving as judge for the first event is Mount Carmel artist and teacher Mark Sassani.
The gallery is located inside the Northumberland County Arts Center, Eighth and Arch streets, the former Shamokin High School, on the lower floor. Use the handicapped entrance and follow the signs.
Light refreshments will be served at the reception and the public is invited.
The show will run through November and can be viewed Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
