MCA jazz band concert set
MOUNT CARMEL - The Mount Carmel Area High School Jazz Band will present its annual spring concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the junior-senior high school auditorium. The concert will feature student instrumental and vocal soloists.
The jazz band will perform a variety of music, including "Alright, OK, You Win" and the modern jazz tunes "Birdland," "Pick Up The Pieces" and "Dancing Men."
The band is under the direction of Bernard Stellar.
The program is free to the public.
Sewer authority office closed
KULPMONT - The Kulpmont-Marion Heights Joint Municipal Authority's office will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day.
MCA Class of 1989 plans reunion
MOUNT CARMEL - Mount Carmel Area High School Class of 1989 is planning its 25th-year reunion to be held Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Wilburton Grove. Street sweeper coming to Atlas
ATLAS - The Mount Carmel Township Board of Supervisors remind residents who live on the 200 through 400 blocks of Columbia Avenue to move their vehicles for the street sweeper Tuesday.
Residents of Diamondtown are reminded to move their vehicles on the same day for the sweeper. All cars that are not moved will receive a $15 ticket.
Fire company awarding scholarships
COAL TOWNSHIP - The Forest Hill Fire Company scholarships are available to graduating seniors of area high schools.
Each applicant must meet all of the requirements to be considered and must be a child or grandchild of an active "A" member of the fire company.
