Crack sealing to slow city traffic
SHAMOKIN - Weather permitting, a PennDOT crew will perform crack sealing operations over several days next week in the city.
On Tuesday, the southbound lane of Route 125 (Market Street and Bear Valley Avenue) will be crack sealed. On Wednesday, the work will shift to the northbound lane. No on-street parking will be permitted along each side of the route while work is being done on that side.
On Thursday, crack sealing will be performed on the southbound lane of Route 61 (Sixth Street and Sunbury Street). On Friday, work will shift to the northbound lane.
Work will be performed between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Flaggers will direct traffic. Motorists should expect delays or, if possible, take an alternate route.
Should inclement weather delay the work on any day, it will be rescheduled for the following day.
