Clover collecting food for pantry
MOUNT CARMEL - Clover Hose Co. is seeking non-perishable food donations to benefit the borough's food pantry.
A collection barrel will be placed outside its truck room, 301 S. Oak St., on Saturday during the Mount Carmel Holiday Parade, with donations sought to make for a better Christmas holiday for those in need.
The fire company's Trainland model train display will open at 6:30 p.m. Friday and after the parade Saturday inside its truck room, and Santa Claus had been in touch with the fire company's crew about his annual ride through the borough to hand out treats and greet children of all ages.
A collection barrel is currently located inside the Clover's social quarters to collect food ahead of Thanksgiving on Thursday. Anyone wishing to make a donation can drop it off between noon and closing daily, or by calling 339-1990 to make arrangements.
The food drives is being conducted in conjunction with several local merchants.
