Veterans invited to breakfast
RANSHAW - Veterans living in the 107th Legislative District are invited to join Rep. Kurt Masser (R-Columbia/Montour/Northumberland) for his Veterans Breakfast, an upcoming legislative event he is hosting in Ranshaw.
The Veterans Breakfast is scheduled to be held Thursday, Nov. 14, from 7:30-9 a.m., at the Brady Banquet Hall, located at 700 Maple St., in Ranshaw, behind the RCA grounds.
Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP to Masser's district office in Elysburg by calling 570-648-8017.
Fine handcrafters still wanted
SHAMOKIN - The gallery at the Northumberland County Council for the Arts is looking for artisans to display and sell their work at the opening reception of the annual holiday art auction.
The reception will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at the gallery inside the arts center and is the major fundraiser for the gallery. Crafters will pay $20 for table space.

More maintenance set for Route 147
MONTOURSVILLE - A PennDOT maintenance crew in Northumberland County will restrict traffic on a section of Route 147 (Duke, Water & King Streets) in Northumberland Borough for crack sealing to seal the pavement surface and the recent patches.
The work next week will take place from Fifth Street to Priestley Avenue. Duke, Water and King Streets will be restricted daily from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday. and Friday. Motorists should anticipate the possibility of lengthy travel delays and plan accordingly.
This work will be performed weather permitting.
