Tax office open Saturday
MARION HEIGHTS - The Mount Carmel Township and Marion Heights tax office will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. Residents are reminded that second installments are due.
Also, taxpayers who were away when the school tax bills were sent in July and have not contacted the office should call 339-4315 to receive their bills from Jan Costello.
Pierogies for sale
COAL TOWNSHIP - The Shamokin and Coal Township Senior Action Center has potato and cheese pierogies, made by Our Lady of Hope Church, available for sale. The cost is $8 a dozen. To order, call 644-0772.
Remembrance ceremony slated
DANVILLE - The fifth annual Rainbows of Remembrance ceremony will be held at the Henry Hood Center for Health Research at Geisinger Medical Center at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11.
The ceremony honors the lives of all babies who passed away in the past year. All community members and families who have experienced the untimely loss of a baby are invited to attend this free event, which begins with appetizers at 6 p.m. before the memorial service at 7 p.m.
