Tickets available for crab fest
RANSHAW - Tickets are still available for the Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital crab festival to be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Ranshaw Civic Association Picnic Grounds.
The festival, which benefits programs and initiatives at the hospital, includes all-you-can-eat hard shell crabs, clams, Polish and Italian cuisines, a pig roast, a basket raffle and live music by The Fobias. Tickets are $50. A cash bar will be provided by Brady Fire Company.
To purchase tickets online, go to www.geisinger.org/100. Tickets will also be sold at the G-SACH administrative office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 644-4353 for more information.
Master gardeners to present program
SUNBURY - Northumberland and Snyder County master gardeners will host a free workshop on "Putting Your Garden, Lawn and Pond to Bed." The workshop will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Degenstein Library, 40 S. Fifth St.
Tips include preparing your garden and landscape for winter, protecting your plants and landscape from the damaging effects of winter and cleanup and cover cropping in the vegetable garden.
