New mural to be dedicated
DANVILLE - Downtown Danville's newest mural will be dedicated Sunday.
The dedication ceremony and reception will be hosted by FNB Bank in its lobby at 354 Mill St. at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. The mural is located on the side of the building at 347 Mill St., which is owned by Johnny Nguyen who also operates the Royal Nails Salon.
Featured speakers will be Jim Wilson, executive director of the Danville Business Alliance; Jo Pennypacker, the artist who designed and painted the mural, and Helen "Sis" Hause, who will offer a historian's perspective of the mural and its meaning. The dedication will also recognize project contributors.
Thespians to deliver 'Love Letters'
SHAMOKIN - RiverStage Community Theatre will present the Pulitzer Prize-nominated drama "Love Letters" by A.R. Gurney at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at Northumberland County Career and Arts Center, Arch and Eighth streets.
