Food pantry distribution Saturday
ATLAS - The Mount Carmel Township Food Pantry will distribute surplus food from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the borough garage. All residents in Atlas, Diamondtown, Strong, Locust Gap, Connorsville, Dooleyville and Beaverdale who have signed up are eligible.
Mt. Carmel Food Pantry open Saturday
MOUNT CARMEL - The Mount Carmel Food Pantry will have its food distribution from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Notary Shop. Those that were enrolled last year need to sign up again for the 2010-2011 year.
Bible school moved
WEST CAMERON TOWNSHIP - Bethel Union Chapel Bible School will be held at West Cameron Elementary School this year because of renovation at the church hall. It will be at 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, July 23. Graduation will be July 23.
Donations needed for Meals on Wheels
SHAMOKIN - The Greater Shamokin Area Meals on Wheels Inc. is accepting donations to support its home delivered meals program. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 415, Shamokin 17872.
The organization delivers approximately 1,500 meals each month to the elderly and homebound. The Greater Shamokin Area Meals on Wheels Inc. is a 501(c )(3) Tax-Exempt Organization and your donations are tax deductible.
SUN Home plans butterfly releases
NORTHUMBERLAND - SUN Home Health and Hospice will hold four butterfly releases to benefit its hospice program.
Locally, a release will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 25, at Bluebird Gardens, 1042 S. Front St., Sunbury. Additional releases will be held in Lewistown, Williamsport and Newport.
Family and friends can sponsor butterflies in honor or memory of a loved one. The donation for each honor or memorial butterfly is $25.
SUN Home Hospice has been providing support and comfort to patients with life-limiting illnesses for nearly 30 years.
