Rockathon scheduled

COAL TOWNSHIP - St. John's United Methodist Church will hold a Youth Rockathon from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday. Donations collected will go to the Expectations Ministry (formerly Pregnancy Care Center).

Easter egg sign ups

KULPMONT - Sign ups for the children's Easter egg hunt will be held today and Friday at West End Fire Association, 1254 Maple St. For more information and to register, call 373-9423. Open to all children ten years old and younger. Must pre-register for baskets.

Meet the candidates

SHAMOKIN - The Shamokin Area Democratic Women will be hosting a "meet the candidates" night at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, at the St. Francis Home Association, 615 E. Race St. All national, state and local candidates are invited to attend and inform the audience with a short presentation on their plans for our area's future. Time permitting, a question and answer period will follow the presentations. For more information, contact state Democratic committeeperson and club president Peggy Ferrari at 648-4724, or former state Democratic committeeperson and club treasurer Joan L. Kelley at 648-5311. Candidates should RSVP to either Ferrari or Kelley. The general public is invited to attend.
