Anniversary committee to meet

SHAMOKIN - The city's 150th Anniversary Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 22 inside city hall.

Attendees will form subcommittees and begin to form plans for the event. All interested parties are urged to attend.

Hospice care info event set

DANVILLE - Geisinger Hospice is hosting a free informational event about hospice care at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Henry Hood Center for Health Research on the campus of Geisinger Medical Center.

There are many misconceptions about hospice. Hospice care assists patients when there is no medical cure, offering care, comfort and support for people with life-limiting conditions, as well as their families.

The event will also teach attendees how they can become hospice volunteers.

Diabetic Support Group to meet

SUNBURY - The monthly meeting of the Diabetic Support Group at Sunbury Community Hospital will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the ground floor conference room.

This month's guest speaker is Dr. Hasan Askari, a neurologist who will present information about diabetic neuropathy.

The regular meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month and offer a variety of educational, social and supportive topics.
