WILLIAMSTOWN - The Northumberland District Council of Catholic Women (CCW) held its deanery meeting Feb. 24 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ in Williamstown.

Elaine Jurgill, deanery president, called the meeting to order. Members joined in saying the Prayer to Our Lady of Good Counsel and the Pledge of Allegiance. Rosemary Boyer, the parish host president, welcomed members.

The diocesan CCW third annual retreat will be from June 7 to 9 at Mount St. Mary's.

Margaret Forbes reported the 50th Anniversary Mass was held at Good Shepherd Church in Camp Hill, with Bishop Jospeh McFadden as the celebrant. About 500 people attended.

The Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Convention will be held April 15 at the Cardinal Keeler Center in Harrisburg. A silent auction will be held. Baby clothes and items will be collected.

A nominating committee of Terry Bakowics, Nancy Madigan and Lois Sejuit will have a slate ready for the next meeting, which will be held in June.

Margaret Forbes, family concerns chair, will handle the anniversary Mass and dinner to be held this fall at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. The meeting was closed with prayers for the sick and deceased members. The meeting was adjourned, and refreshments were served.
