SHAMOKIN - Warren Gunderman, of 219 W. Second St., Mount Carmel, captured first place in the 10th week of The News-Item Football Contest by correctly making 11 out of 12 possible selections.

Gunderman was one of 15 individuals who correctly picked 11 out of 12 possible selections, but was the only one who correctly picked 47 points as the most points scored by a single team. Tamaqua scored 47 points in their win over Marian Friday night. For his correct guess, Gunderman will receive a $50 gift certificate to any of the participating businesses in the contest.
