Mount Carmel Halloween parade winners announced

MOUNT CARMEL - The Mount Carmel Elks Lodge No. 356 and The Union National Bank have released a list of winners from the 2009 Halloween Parade held Saturday, Oct. 31. They are as follows:

Best In Show: "Kidzersize," Motivation Station (donation by Dennis Hepler and Mary Ellen Shoppy);

Judges Choice: "Bambam Flintstone car" Kamerty Brinich (donation by Ron & Virginia Shopinski).

Special Appearance Award: MCA High School Band.

Individual winners: First place, "Garden Gnome," Gabrielle Dusendschine; second place "Jack in the Box," Luciano Belgio; third, "Marine," Trevor Shuder; fourth place,"Mouse," David Paul Jr.

Couple winners: First, place, "Raggedy Ann & Andy," Hobi and Mallory Forti; second,"Indians," Matthew and Chase Balichik; third, "Fire Truck," Brayden and Brody Brinkash; fourth, "Witch Couple," Karissa Koronkiewicz.

Small Float: First place, "Alice in Wonderland," Kehler, Rosko and Santell Families; second, "Nemo," Gavin Angeli; third, "Tweety Bird," Peyton Katinsky.

Large Float: First place, "Austin Powers," Bill and Michelle Marquardt and family; second, "MCA Junior Class"

Group: First place, "Haunted House;" Nevius and Wichurowski families; second, "Pinocchio;" Beth Gusamari; third, "Marx Brothers," McCracken Family.

A special thank you to the Mount Carmel Area High School Band for leading the parade. Special thanks are also given to the Mount Carmel Police Department and the Mount Carmel Fire Police for their assistance with traffic control during the parade and the Mount Carmel Libraray.

Prizes can be picked up at The Union National Bank, 1 N. Oak St., Mount Carmel, during regular banking hours.
