FORT JACKSON, S.C. - Pvt. Gary Bregensir III graduated Aug. 29 from U.S. Army Basic Combat Training.

The training encompassed 10 weeks of physical and mental challenges while living the Army values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage. During the Blue Phase of BCT, Bregensir qualified as a sharpshooter during the Advanced Rifle Marksmanship and was awarded a medal.

Bregensir is a son of Gary T. Bregensir Jr., of Coal Township, and Colleen and Matthew Hess, of Den-Mar Gardens, Kulpmont. He is a grandson of Cookie and the late Robert Murin, also of Den-Mar Gardens.

Bregensir is currently attending Mount Carmel Area Junior-Senior High School to complete his senior year. Directly upon graduation, he will resume his Army tenure. He is assigned for advanced individual training at Ft. Leonard Wood in the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear School.
