Annville

Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Memorial Council will present its 32nd annual Memorial Day Program at 2 p.m. Sunday, rain or shine. This year's program is co-sponsored by the Gold Star Mothers, Department of Pennsylvania.

Ashland

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7654 and American Legion Post 434 host Memorial Day remembrance Sunday. Parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. near May's Drive-In and move east on Centre Street, turn left at Hoffman Boulevard and end at Mother's Memorial for a ceremony. Guest speaker will be VFW member Blake Ruppert.

Atlas

American Legion Post 804 will host a breakfast at the post home, Route 61, beginning at 8 a.m.

The community is invited to attend a memorial service at 10 a.m. at the monument. The ceremony will conclude with a presentation by the Mount Carmel Area High School marching band.

Members will then march through Atlas, ending at the Atlas Fire Company memorial, where a service will be held. Members of the post will also perform memorial services at times to be determined in Strong, Beaverdale, Diamondtown and Aristes.

Bear Gap

The 26th annual Memorial Day Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at All Saints Cemetery, Route 54, weather permitting. The Mass will be held at the cemetery adjacent to the office. The public is invited and are asked to bring lawn chairs. The Mass is celebrated honoring the lives of loved ones and fallen veterans.

Kulpmont

Kulpmont Veterans Committee annual Memorial Day parade and memorial service at Roosevelt Court will be held Monday. Participants are asked to meet at American Legion Post 231 at 9 a.m. Courtesy of King Coal, a bus will transport the group to the VFW on Chestnut Street and on to St. Casimir's, St. Mary's and the Protestant cemeteries for graveside services honoring deceased veterans.

At 10:30 a.m., parade participants will start to form at the American Legion grounds, Ninth and Ash streets. Parade will begin promptly at 11 a.m.

In the event of rain, the services will be held at the American Legion grounds, where refreshments will be served to all parade participants.

Mount Carmel

Mount Carmel Area Joint Veterans Committee Memorial Day Mass will be held at Divine Redeemer Church, Avenue and Poplar Street, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

A Changing of the Colors flag ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at flag pole at Susquehanna Bank, Second and Oak streets.

On Monday, activities begin at American Legion Post 91, Avenue and Maple Street, at 8:15 a.m., when a parade will form on Maple Street. The parade will proceed to monuments at Susquehanna Bank for a service, then to World War I plaque at UNB Bank, Oak Street; Saint Mary's Cemetery in Beaverdale and Mount Carmel Cemetery for a service. From there, those assembled will travel by vehicle to Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Locust Gap for services. Food, refreshments will be available at American Legion beginning at 11 a.m.

Coal Township/Shamokin

Annual Memorial Day march and veterans' salute, starts at Arch Street playground, 1200 block of Arch Street, 9 a.m. See separate story.

Wilburton

Memorial Day activities start at 8:30 a.m. at Centralia American Legion Post 608.
