MOUNT CARMEL - Students at Mount Carmel Area Elementary School recently participated in the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Math-A-Thon program and raised $4,100.47 to help kids battling cancer and other deadly diseases at St. Jude, one of the world's premier pediatric cancer research centers.

A part of the donation was raised at a community bake sale during a summer camp entitled "Kids Cooking for a Cause."

The Math-A-Thon was coordinated by Ana Ditchey with the help of Jolene Scicchitano, Stefanie Van Norman, Lori Heath, Rita Boyer, Karen McCracken and Amy Hager.
