Mazzatesta running for seat at Mount Carmel Area board
MOUNT CARMEL - Anthony D. "Tony" Mazzatesta has announced his candidacy for Mount Carmel Area School Board.
He is a 1990 graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School, a 1995 graduate of Wilkes University with a Bachelor of Science in materials engineering and a minor in physics, and a 1997 graduate of The Johns Hopkins University with a Master of Science in materials science and engineering.
Mazzatesta has a 15-year professional career, spanning the telecommunication, environmental/construction and federal contracting industries as a manufacturing process engineer, project manager and operations manager. He works in the oil and gas division of RETTEW Associates Inc. as a client account manager and program manager in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays.
Mazzatesta is the owner of a U.S. Patent and is a published technical author.
In 2003, he was recognized for achievements in his athletic career at Mount Carmel Area High School through induction into the Ed Romance Hall of Fame for football. Additionally, he is a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus and serves as the youth director for the K of C Council 4281. He is a lector at Holy Angels Church and a Kulpmont Cougars football coach.
He resides in Kulpmont with his wife, Patti, and two daughters, Maci and Talia.
"I would welcome an opportunity if afforded by the voting public of the Mount Carmel area to employ the experience and education received over the last couple decades for the mutual benefit of the students, taxpayers and administration of the district. The Mount Carmel Area community and school district are entities I have much passion for, and I would like to be a part of ensuring their continued success into the future," he said.
