ELYSBURG - In an effort to bring services relating to small business development and growth to residents, Rep. Kurt Masser (R-107), in collaboration with the Bucknell University Small Business Development Center (SBDC), has scheduled outreach hours for later this month.

Residents who are interested in starting a new business will receive one-on-one confidential consulting, free of charge, at the outreach scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, July 18, This service is being offered at Masser's district office, 467 Industrial Park Road.

Appointments are necessary and must be scheduled at least two business days in advance of the meeting date. To schedule an appointment, call the Bucknell University SBDC office at 570-577-1249, or toll free at 1-866-375-6010.

Typical business topics include how to start a business, financial analysis, hiring employees, bookkeeping, preparing a business plan, financial forecasting and marketing strategies for growth.

The Bucknell SBDC has been helping businesses for more than 30 years in Snyder, Union, Northumberland, Montour, Juniata and Perry counties.
