Man suffers head wound while using drill at Northumberland County office
SUNBURY - A Northumberland County maintenance employee underwent emergency room treatment Monday morning after suffering a head wound while working in the prothonotary's office.
James Conbeer, 61, of Coal Township, was injured in the 10 a.m. accident that happened while he was running electrical wiring in the civil division of the prothonotary's office. Conbeer, who was standing on a ladder and using a drill, reportedly was struck in the head near his left eye by the large drill after the bit became stuck in the wall.
Conbeer was bleeding profusely and his glasses were broken. He was initially provided assistance by other maintenance staff before being transported by Americus Ambulance to Sunbury Community Hospital, where he reportedly received stitches and was released.
