Longtime officer of Kulpmont KofC resigns
KULPMONT - Kulpmont Knights of Columbus Grand Knight and District 54 Deputy Dave Shinskie acknowledged with regret the resignation Dec. 13 of Ray Hodrick, longtime financial secretary of the council.
Shinskie said Hodrick has served in the position for Monsignor Petrovits Council 4281 since Aug. 13, 1991. He noted that the position is a vital one and Hodrick played a large part in the continued success and accomplishment of the council.
Since the council's founding, there have been only three financial secretaries: Jimmy Nestico, 1956 to 1976; Freddie Gilotti, 1976 to 1991, and Hodrick, 1991 to the present.
Shinskie observed that Hodrick's 22 years in office and 57 consecutive years of membership in the order is representative of true Columbianism and is a credit to church, community and the council.
On behalf of Kulpmont council and fellow officers, Shinskie presented Hodrick with a letter of appreciation and an embroidered sweater in aprreciation for his service.
The supreme council appointed Charles Mannello to serve as the new financial secretary,
