Large turnout at Advent program
MOUNT CARMEL - Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church had a full hall of members from various churches for the Mount Carmel Area Ministerium's "Soup and Sandwiches Advent Service" Wednesday.
The Rev. Rose Marquardt, ministerium president, welcomed everyone, and the Rev. Frank Karwacki, pastor, acted as the leader of the service and host for the meal.
The Rev. Andrew Stahmer, pastor of Holy Angels Church in Kulpmont, delivered the message on the topic of Nazareth's role in Advent. Other clergy present were Pastor Joan Brown, Pastor Susan Roehs, Deacon Martin McCarthy and Deacon Richard Hazzard.
The meal consisted of homemade chicken soup prepared by Eileen Hirsch and haluski prepared by Patrick Grybos. Maryann Kornacki and Marie McFadden prepared the tables and acted as hostesses.
Holy Angels Church also had a large turnout for the service on Dec. 4. The next soup and sandwiches Advent service will be held at at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Evangelical Church in Locustdale.
