KULPMONT - The Kulpmont Lions Ladies held their meeting Aug. 23 at Harry's Fine Foods in Shamokin with Karla Zlockie acting as hostess.

The secretary's report, read by Ann Gard, was approved on motions made by Deb Martin and Fran Ambrose. The treasurer's report was given by Pat Szoke. The report approved on motions made by Rita Madden and Ann Baskera. Routine business was transacted.

President Carmella Daniels announced the graduating seniors who received the "Most Civic Minded Awards from the club - Trevor Demko from Mount Carmel Area and Carissa Zimmerman from Our Lady of Lourdes.

Remarks were made about the wonderful Ladies Night the men hosted in July and the picture that appeared in The News-Item the next day, showing the ladies giving the men a monetary donation for their projects.

The 50/50 was won by Norma Zlockie and the hostess gift by Martin. The motion to adjourn was made by Karla Zlockie and seconded by Ambrose.

The next meeting will be held Monday, Sept. 20 with Monica Brozoskie as hostess.
