Judge invites Shoch to already scheduled county workshop
SUNBURY - Northumberland County President Judge Robert B. Sacavage wants county Commissioner Rick Shoch to meet him in the county administration center meeting room at 11 a.m. today to discuss Shoch's "ongoing tirades to the news media."
Shoch said Sacavage is inviting him to a county workshop meeting that is already scheduled, so, "Of course I'll be there."
Sacavage said in his media release he was inviting the commissioner to "present evidence" regarding claims Sacavage and Commissioners Vinny Clausi and Stephen Bridy allowed former adult probation chief officer John David Wondoloski to collect unemployment by labeling his retirement as the elimination of his position.
Wondoloski, 57, of Elysburg, was employed with the county in the adult probation office for five years. On the termination form, Wondoloski's salary is listed at $61,129.
Sacavage was not available later Monday to provide more details on the discussion points.
Shoch said he welcomes the opportunity.
"If he would like to explain to me how we can classify his retirement as a termination, I'd like to hear that explanation," he said.
Whatever Sacavage says, every one in the courthouse knew Wondoloski was retiring, and what happened was wrong, Shoch maintains.
Wondoloski said any notion that he received special treatment is false.
