KULPMONT - As the wind howled, ghouls and goblins walked through the borough streets during the Kulpmont Lions 2010 Halloween Parade Thursday night.

Michael J. Fantanarosa, chairman of the Kulpmont Lions Halloween Parade Committee, announced the winners.

The grand marshal prize went to Pirates of the Carribean by the Marquardt family.

The judges trophy was given to the Thriller float, created by the Deeter family.

Judges for the parade were Mary Kay Bartol, Sherri Bozza, Rita Buggy, Ann Martino and Raelene Sinopoli.

Providing music for the parade were the Mount Carmel Area Band, dressed in costume, and The Shoreliners, on the Lions Club float. Other participants included Kulpmont Police, Kulpmont Fire Department, Strong Fire Company, Atlas Fire Company, Marion Heights Fire Company, Kulpmont and Mount Carmel Fire Police, Kulpmont Ambulance and AREA Services.

All participants were treated to refreshments prepared by the Kulpmont Halloween Committee and Lions Ladies, served in the West End Fire Company social rooms.

Fantanarosa thanked the parade sponsors, parade committee, Lions Ladies, the Rev. Andrew Stahmer, pastor of Holy Angels Parish, Rhoades Florist, Fantanarosa Transport, Mayor Turlis, Kulpmont Borough Council, St. Pauline Visintainer Center Board of Directors, West End Fire Company, all participants and anyone else who helped make this years parade the biggest and best ever.

Prizes can be picked up from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kulpmont Lions Club.
