Font size: [A] [A] [A]

The SUN Area Council of Republican Women are accepting signed Christmas cards (in bulk) to send to our troops overseas.

The council's Support Our Troops Committee has adopted troops and regularly send care packages. It has come to the council's attention that several soldiers do not receive as much as a card at Christmas.

If you would like to send Christmas cards or items to our troops, please contact one of the council's officers to arrange pick-up by Monday.

Committee members are:

Irene C. Harris, president, 374-0876.

Loretta Sprenkle, Snyder County vice president, 837-3091.

Carolyn Conner, Union County vice president, 568-1217.

Martha Milbrand, Northumberland County vice president, 644-0582.

Tami Tiller, secretary, 850-4219.

Jolene Bierly, treasurer and Support Our Troops chair, 246-9339.

The SUN Area Republican Women will also participate in the Wreaths for Warriors project. Wreathers will be placed on veterans' graves on placing wreaths on the graves of our veterans on Sunday, Dec. 6. Volunteers are welcome. Bring work gloves as the pine needles are prickly.
