Former employee charged with theft from Irish Pot of Gold
COAL TOWNSHIP - Police here have charged a former employee of Irish Pot of Gold Beer Distributor with stealing approximately $2,000 from the business in approximately one month.
Colby Snyder, 24, of 330 Tulip Road, Paxinos, is charged by Patrolman Jason Adams with felonies of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property involving incidents between May 8 and June 19 at the 911 W. Arch St. beer distributor.
According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, the theft was discovered by employee Rebecca Lenig during a review of the inventory and finances. Lenig said video surveillance showed Snyder committing the thefts during his shifts.
When confronted about the thefts by Lenig and business owner Earl Sheriff, Snyder admitted to stealing approximately $1,000 and agreed to cooperate with police, who were later informed by Lenig that the amount was actually $2,093.30.
After being told by police he was going to be charged, Snyder relinquished his keys to the business and exited the premises.
