Five of six local wrestlers win first round bouts at state tournament

HERSHEY -Five of six local wrestlers advanced to the next round of the state wrestling tournament this morning with first-round victories.

Adam Kritzer of Line Mountain (130) defeated Trevor McCauley of

Redbank Valley, 10-5. Kritzer (32-13) will wrestle Joe Spisak of

Boiling Springs (44-1) in the quarterfinals

For Shamokin, Brandon Pesarchick (130) pinned Dakota Davis of

Schuylkill Valley in 31 seconds. Pesarchick (36-5) will wrestle Mikey

Racciato (42-4) of Pen Argyl Friday.

Josh Lahr (135) was a 3-1 overtime winner over Tim Clark of

Saegertown. Lahr (18-7) will wrestle defending state champ Nick

Hodgkins of Wyomissing (34-1) in the quarterfinals.

Derek Shingara (140) decisioned Dalton Anthony of Bermudian Springs 4-2. Shingara (32-7) will wrestle Richard Baker of North Star (34-7) in the quarterfinals.

Shamokin Area's Wes Tillett was pinned by Chris Ramirez of Milton Hershey in 3:27. He'll wrestle later this afternoon.
