Fire burns unnoticed in Hegins Twp.

HEGINS TOWNSHIP - A fire that burned unnoticed razed a hunting cabin at 160 Dell Road in this Schuylkill County township, according to state police at Frackville.

The fire destroyed the cabin, owned by Weavers Sawmill, of Liverpool. According to police, it burned unchecked sometime between Wednesday and Saturday. Damage is estimated to be in excess of $50,000. No injuries were reported.

Several brush fires and four structure fires have occurred in and around Hegins throughout the year. Anyone with information should call state police at Frackville at 874-5300.
