Energy awareness in focus
October is National Energy Awareness Month.
Energy powers our lives. Without it, the world as we know it would not exist.
Helping you use energy wisely is something PPL Electric Utilities has been doing for a long time. It's the right thing to do. We believe in the importance of our role in providing you with the tools, information and incentives to use electricity more efficiently, reduce your carbon footprint and save money along the way.
You have more power over your energy use and costs than you think. Our E-power programs can help you get there. We encourage you to visit www.pplelectric.com/e-power to find out how you can benefit. If you still haven't recycled that old, energy-guzzling refrigerator or freezer, now might be the perfect time to set up a pickup time and get a $35 incentive.
Appropriate for the energy awareness topic, don't forget that our paperless billing promotion continues. If you're an existing customer and you sign up for paperless billing for the first time, we'll send you a free LED light bulb. The promotion continues through Dec. 15, while supplies last.
Once you sign up for electronic billing, take the next step and combine it with automatic bill pay. Both services are free and secure.
In the world of energy education, October is an important month for us.
Working with our partners, the National Energy Foundation, programs will be presented in schools across our service territory to teach students where energy comes from, how it's used and how they can save at school and home. Programs are offered in elementary, middle and high school and reach thousands. They are energy users now, but they're also the homeowners and business owners of tomorrow, so getting them on good energy footing now is important.
Our social media channels, including Facebook and Twitter, will be alive with energy-saving tips during October. If you're not following us yet, take the next step and join thousands who regularly get great PPL news and information on their computers, smart phones and other mobile devices.
Contacting PPL Electric Utilities
From time to time, we like to remind our customers that it's not necessary to use a phone and talk to a customer service representative during the day in order to do business with us. In fact, just a third of the millions of customer contacts each year involve a customer on one end of the phone and one of our representatives on the other.
More and more customers are taking advantage of the convenience of doing business on their schedules, either online at www.pplelectric.com or using the interactive voice recognition system at 1-800-342-5775 (1-800-DIAL-PPL).
We also respond to your letters and e-mails.
No matter what your taste in communications or your schedule, we're there for you.
