SHAMOKIN - The following hearings took place Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court March 25 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Veronica Strohecker, 19, of 622 W. Spruce St., Shamokin, waived to court two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, underage drinking and failure to drive in a single lane relating to a Nov. 22 incident along Industrial Park Road near Ranshaw.
The charges were filed by Coal Township Patrolman Terry Ketchem.
n Angela M. Hopper, 36, of 505 S. Market St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay a $100 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for six months.
Additional charges of simple assault and harassment were withdrawn.
Hopper was charged by Shamokin Cpl. Darwin Tobias III in connection with a physical altercation with her live-in boyfriend, Norman J. Bohner, Jan. 25 at their residence.
n Patricia Schaffer, 57, of 35 N. Rock St., Shamokin, waived to court charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and harassment involving a Nov. 26 disturbance at her residence.
The charges were filed by Shamokin Patrolman Nathan Rhodes.
n Jared Wagner, 21, of 13 S. Eighth St., Shamokin, waived to court charges of delivery of Alprazolam and possession with intent to deliver Alprazolam in connection with an Aug. 27 incident in Shamokin.
The charges were filed by Shamokin Cpl. Bryan Primerano.
n Shannon Marie Shaw, 26, of 447 S. Harrison St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to a summary count of theft of services and was ordered to pay a $100 fine plus costs and pay $72 in restitution to Shamokin Housing Authority.
Shaw was charged by then-Shamokin Cpl. John Brown with dumping garbage into private Dumpsters at the Raspberry Hill Housing Complex on Sept. 15.
