MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court on Dec. 2 in Northumberland County Court, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Dale A. Fishburn, 50, of 930 Washingtonville Road, Apt. A, Danville, waived charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving on roadways laned for traffic and careless driving during his hearing.
He was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman Matthew Filarski following the investigation into a May 1 accident on Route 54 in Natalie.
n William C. Slusser, 42, of 132 Main St., Bloomsburg, waived charges of driving under the influence, DUI with a blood alcohol content of at least .10 percent, driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and careless driving.
Mount Carmel Borough Police Chief Todd Owens filed the charges following a traffic stop at 7:36 p.m. Sept. 11 in the 200 block of Oak Street.
n Cassandra A. Hertzog, 22, of 147 Merriam St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to a citation of disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay a fine and court costs of $440.50.
The citation from an incident investigated by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman Matthew Filarski at Joe's Auto Body, Natalie, at 1:28 a.m. Sept. 1.
Charges of loitering and prowling at night, theft from a motor vehicle, criminal conspiracy, and trespass by motor vehicle were withdrawn.
n Charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana were waived to court by Michelle M. Day, 24, of 22 E. Second St., Apt. 2, Mount Carmel.
Day was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Patrolman Jason Drumheller after an investigation of a handbag found by a man who turned it over to police.
n Emily Laskowski, 20, of 417 E. Spruce St., Mount Carmel, and Steven C. Cherry, 24, of 3 N. Locust St., Mount Carmel, were each sentenced to one year probation and a $100 fine plus court costs after pleading guilty to a charge of open lewdness during their hearings.
Both were charged by Mount Carmel Township Police Chief Brian Hollenbush following a Aug. 27 incident in the area of West Fifth Street. A charge of disorderly conduct against each individual were withdrawn in the case.
n Charges of forgery and acquiring a controlled substance by fraud were waived to court by Christine L. Jeffrey, 27, of 554 Chestnut St., Kulpmont.
Ralpho Township Police Patrolman Chris Grow filed the charges after Jeffrey allegedly changed a prescription slip to receive Percocet at Burch's Drug Store, Elysburg, June 18.
n Kelly A. Van Bourgondien, 22, of 1150 W. Fern St., Apt. 7, waived charges of accidents involving damage to property and summary counts of duty to give information, careless driving, a speeding violation and a lane violation.
She was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman Matthew Filarski following an accident in the area of Route 61 and Laurel Street in Atlas on Sept. 27.
n Gary Cook, 33, of 1013 N. Franklin St., Shamokin, waived two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license, failure to immediately report an accident and driving without insurance.
The charges, filed by Ralpho Township Police Patrolman Chris Grow, relate to a June 7 accident at the intersection of Route 487 and Bottle Road in Elysburg.
