MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court June 23 in Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n Joseph F. Boblick, 34, of 235 S. Chestnut St., Mount Carmel, waived charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance involving an April 1 incident at his residence.

The charges were filed by Mount Carmel Patrolman William Adamski.

According to court documents, police were called to assist probation officers with a check on Boblick. In an upstairs bedroom, where Boblick was found, were four narcotic smoking pipes, four items used for cooking narcotics and a small silver vial with four white rocks inside. Police said field testing showed that the rocks were crack cocaine.

n Justin M. Schoppy, 21, and Ashley M. Knopp, 25, both of 229 W. Seventh St., waived charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy.

They were charged by Mount Carmel Police Chief Todd Owens with stealing scrap aluminum and other metal items from the former Lapinski Lumber Company, Seventh and Vine streets, between Dec. 11 and Dec. 24, and selling them for $682.44.
