MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court Dec. 10 in Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n Two counts of simple assault and one count of harassment filed by Mount Carmel Chief of Police Todd Owens against Jake D. Stellar, 24, of 245 E. Fourth St., Mount Carmel, were withdrawn when the alleged victim refused to testify.

Stellar was charged with assaulting his mother, Kimberly Johnson, at 245 E. Fourth St. Oct. 20.

n Kevin Alan Collins, 44, of 334 S. Hickory St., Mount Carmel, waived charges of theft, receiving stolen property and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received.

Mount Carmel Lt. Christopher Buhay filed the charges in connection with incidents that occurred between Oct. 1 and Nov. 2 at Turkey Hill Minit Market at Fifth and Market streets, where Collins was employed as a clerk at the time.

Police said Collins stolen items and cash from the convenience store.

n Michael R. Fletcher, 24, of 830 Pine St., Kulpmont, waived three counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and a stop sign violation relating to a July 6 incident at Fourth and Hickory streets.

The charges were filed by Mount Carmel Patrolman Patrick McAndrew.
