SHAMOKIN - The following hearings took place Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court April 29 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Angela Leigh Kreski, 44, of 314 S. Coal St., Shamokin, waived to court a charge of retail theft filed by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II.
Kreski was charged with stealing $33.30 in merchandise from the Dollar General Store, 30 E. Independence St., on Jan. 23.
n Marc Benjamin Jr., 24, of 119 W. Montgomery St., Shamokin, waived to court three counts of arson, aggravated assault, burglary, criminal trespass and risking a catastrophe relating to four separate fires in the basement area of 224 W. Arch St. on Aug. 12.
A firefighter suffered a broken leg battling the fire.
The charges were filed by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II and Cpl. Darwin Tobias III.
n Joshua Robert Linn, 18, of 2549 State Route 61, Sunbury, waived to court charges of possessing a folding knife on school property and disorderly conduct involving a Jan. 25 incident at Shamokin Area Middle/High School.
Coal Township Deputy Chief Chris Williams filed the charges.
