MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court Oct. 21 in Northumberland County Court, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Bobbi Jo Rogers, 35, of 148 W. Avenue, Mount Carmel, waived to court charges of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, possessing an instrument of crime, propulsion of missiles from an overpass or bridge, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and criminal mischief.
Rogers was charged by Mount Carmel Patrolman Kevin Katch with firing a BB gun Sept. 1 at a window at 34 W. Sixth St., causing it to smash. Police said Rogers fired the gun while driving a vehicle. A woman, a 13-year-old female and a 2-month old child were inside the home when the BB shattered the window, but they escaped injury.
n Dustin M. Rogers, 18, of 38 N. Maple St., Apt. 3, Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to harassment and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs. An additional charge of simple assault was withdrawn.
Rogers was charged by Mount Carmel Patrolman Matthew Dillman with striking a 16-year-old male juvenile in the head, causing him to suffer injuries that required treatment at a local hospital. Police said the assault occurred Sept. 10 in the 200 block of West Fig Street.
n Daniel A. Peruso, 59, of 9 Pine Drive, Lewistown, waived to court charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding in connection with a June 5 incident at the intersection of Main Street and Route 901 in Locust Gap.
The charges were filed by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Matthew Filarski.
n Shadi Mustafa Abuomar, 25, of 120 Academy St., Shamokin, waived to court charges of possessing a firearm while being a former convict, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver heroin, criminal conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of a combination of drugs.
The charges filed by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Matthew Filarski relate to a June 23 incident in which Abuomar was pulled over by police on Route 901 between Excelsior and the former Boylan's Garage.
