MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court Nov. 18 in Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Stephanie Nicole Padula, 20, of 131 S. Market St., Elysburg, waived felony trespass, 20 misdemeanor counts of theft, five misdemeanor counts of receiving stolen property, two misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors, and one misdemeanor count of tampering or fabricating evidence.
She was released from Northumberland County Prison, Sunbury, on $20,000 unsecured bail, which was reduced from cash bail during her hearing.
Padula is accused of stealing approximately $1,270 in belongings from unlocked vehicles on at least two occasions in Ralpho Township in September and October.
n Colin Andrew Wasilewski, 20, of 809 Oneida St., Shamokin, waived felony possession of a controlled substance and two misdemeanor counts each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He is free on $25,000 unsecured bail.
Wasilewski is accused of possession 9 grams of marijuana and various paraphernalia during an incident Oct. 8 at 137-139 S. Orange St., Apt. 1. Wasilewski had called police to report a break-in at the apartment, police said.
n Sarah J. Oxenford, 22, of 260 Osprey Lane, Hummelstown, waived two counts of driving under the influence and charges of endangering the welfare of a child, recklessly endangering another person, careless driving, roadways laned for traffic and restraint systems.
She is accused of driving recklessly Oct. 8 on the Beaverdale Highway (Route 2038) with two small children in the back of her vehicle. Police said Oxenford became belligerent when stopped by police and refused to submit to chemical testing.
n Nicholas C. Elliott, 20, of 1240 Poplar St., Kulpmont, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and was sentenced to pay a $500 fine plus court costs and six months probation. A count of theft was withdrawn.
Elliott was accused of stealing a pedal bike from 907 Pine St., Kulpmont, at 5:15 p.m. May 1.
n Mitchell E. Shields, 20, of 123 S. Vine St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was sentenced to pay a $500 fine plus costs and one year probation. A second paraphernalia count was withdrawn.
He was accused of possessing two Spice containers at his residence Sept. 17 during a probation visit.
Charges are pending in Northumberland County Court against his brother, Daniel Shields, for the same incident.
n Wilburn Harden Denman, 45, of 46 N. Maple St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and was sentenced to pay a $500 fine plus court costs and six months probation. A second paraphernalia count was withdrawn.
A spoon with a white substance, which Denman identified as Ritalin, and several used syringes were found inside his residence after police were dispatched there about 7 p.m. Oct. 12 for a fight.
