MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones. Defendants ordered to appear for plea court Dec. 30 in Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n Charges of theft and receiving stolen property against Robert C. Carl, 30, of 554 Chestnut St., rear apartment, Kulpmont, were withdrawn Wednesday during a preliminary hearing.

Police said Carl allegedly stole a four-wheeler rack from the front porch of Stephanie Wagner, of 753 Chestnut St., Sept. 12.

n Jeffrey M. Bogovich, 43, of 1122 Scott St., Kulpmont, waived to court charges of two counts of driving under the influence, one count of careless driving and one count of general lighting requirements following a traffic stop on Route 61 in Kulpmont at 12:45 a.m. Sept. 2.

The charges were filed by Trooper David Townsend of the Stonington police barracks.

Bail was set at $5,000.

n James E. Doak, 45, of 31 N. Locust St., Mount Carmel, waived to court charges of two counts of driving under suspension related to DUI and failure to have a small child properly restrained in a vehicle.

The charges, filed by Mount Carmel Township Police Chief Brian Hollenbush, relate to a Sept. 20 incident in the 600 block of West Sixth Street.

Bail was set at $5,000.

n The preliminary hearing for David X. Hernandez, 19, of 244 W. Cherry St., Mount Carmel, was continued to 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Brian Carnuccio filed charges of corruption of minors and harassment against Hernandez for allegedly having a relationship with a 14-year-old girl.
