MOUNT CARMEL - The following hearings took place Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones. Defendants who waived their cases or were held for court were ordered to appear for plea court at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time they can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n Seth M. Gillen, 32, of Dalmatia, waived to court charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, retail theft and harassment relating to a disturbance at about noon Wednesday at the Sheetz store, Elysburg.

Ralpho Township Sgt. Chris Keisher reported that Gillen allegedly pushed Northumberland County Adult Probation Officer Matthew Narcavage backward out the door of the business after Narcavage had spotted him attempting to steal items from the store. Police said Narcavage had to handcuff Gillen when he continued to struggle with him on the ground.

Bail was set at $30,000.

n Lauren M. Wilks, 24, of 715 Scott St., Kulpmont, was bound to court on charges of harassment and disorderly conduct involving a Dec. 4 disturbance at 713-715 Scott St., Kulpmont. She failed to appear for her hearing.

She and her boyfriend, Justin R. Derr, 23, are accused by Patrolman Cade Holden of using obscene language toward Howard C. Beers Jr. and Andrea Beers.
