Charges filed
ASHLAND - On Monday, March 8, Ashland police responded at 10:24 p.m. to 2108 Centre St. for an unwanted person at that location. Police said Amy L. Fabian, 45, same address, was allegedly harassing two persons at that location, Edward and Gerald Miller.
Police said Fabian was warned to desist in her actions, but she continued to be disorderly, resisted arrest and kicked an officer while in custody.
Fabian was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, persistent disorderly conduct and harassment. She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker of Shenandoah and taken to the Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Vehicle break-in
ASHLAND - Borough police received a call at 1:17 a.m. March 9 reporting a male possibly breaking into a vehicle at Fifth and Centre streets. Since Ashland police were taking a person in custody to the Schuylkill County Prison, Butler Township Police Lt. Daniel Holderman responded to the call.
Upon arrival, Holderman observed Matthew Corbacio, 25, of 1405 Walnut St., Ashland, inside a Toyota Corolla owned by Michael Nieddu, 434 Centre St.
When confronted by Holderman, Corbacio fled on foot. Holderman and his K-9 Wulcan, along with officers from Frackville and Mount Carmel police departments, did a search of the area.
A Frackville officer observed Corbacio running on Middle Street. Officers gave chase and apprehended him at Fifth and Chestnut streets.
Corbacio is charged with criminal attempted theft, escape and theft from a motor vehicle. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker of Shenandoah and taken to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $10,000 straight bail.
Pirate theft
ASHLAND - Ginney Kelly, of 100 N. Ninth St., Ashland, reported to borough police Monday that someone stole a wooden pirate figurine from her front porch sometime over the weekend. The item is valued at $500, weighs about 100 pounds and is four-foot high. It has a gray bandana with polka dots and a gold vest over a green and white shirt. Anyone with information about the theft should call Ashland police at 875-2600.
Disorderly conduct
KULPMONT - Patrolman Anthony Galla has cited Michael John Scott, 22, of 911 Scott St., Kulpmont, for disorderly conduct for making unreasonable noise and using obscene language at his home shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday.
Drug charges
GIRARDVILLE - Samantha L. Simpson, 37, of Reading, was arraigned on two counts of possession of marijuana following a vehicle stop by state police at Frackville in the 100 block of West Ogden Street at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday.
After the vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation, Simpson, who was a front-seat passenger, was identified as being wanted on a warrant for a drug violation in Butler Township. She was taken into custody by state police before being turned over to Butler Township police.
Simpson was released on $25,000 unsecured bail at her arraignment.
Throws snowballs
SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Scott Weaver has cited a 16-year-old city boy for disorderly conduct for throwing snowballs at moving vehicles and at doors and windows of residences in the area of Race and Vine streets at 10 p.m. March 4.
