Tools stolen

COAL TOWNSHIP - Kevin Dorsett, 44, of 1253 W. Gowen St., told police someone stole $1,455 in tools from his pickup truck parked across from his residence between Saturday and early Monday morning.

Among the stolen tools was a 825-piece Craftsman tool set in an orange container with a handle.

2 crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - A two-vehicle crash occurred about 5 p.m. Monday at the Route 61 on- and off-ramps in front of the Anthra Plaza.

Township police said Joan Kipplebauer, 70, of 405 S. First St., Ashland, was driving a 2008 Kia when she attempted to turn left onto the on-ramp and failed to yield for an oncoming southbound motorcycle. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

The motorcycle, a 1999 Kawasaki, was driven by Norwood Thomas, 72, of 137 Lower Patch Road, Coal Township.

No one was injured, police said. Both vehicles sustained minor damages.

Theft from vehicles

ASHLAND - Butler Township Police are investigating thefts from motor vehicles parked along Germanville and Tiley roads between midnight and 6 a.m. Sept. 24 in Schuylkill County. Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles. Anyone with information or who may have been a victim is asked to call police at 570-875-4131.
